Inpatient Acute Care

The adult inpatient acute program at Cedar Springs Hospital is for 18-year-olds and older with psychiatric or substance abuse issues so severe they require intensive 24-hour care. The program provides an accepting, nonjudgmental treatment approach in a specialized environment.

The program is based on the concept that people have an inherent capacity to learn and grow and is designed to meet the unique needs of each person and family. Our staff members are sensitive to each patient’s stage of life and can help them learn to address needs in an acceptable way.

Family members are encouraged to participate in their loved one’s treatment. We focus on stabilization to allow the patient to move to a less restrictive level of care such as partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient. Medical detoxification for adult substance abuse is available on this unit.
